There's a lot written about household chemicals, and it's hard to know what's real. We run everything through the same evidence test and tell you plainly what matters and what doesn't.
See What Actually MattersEvery recommendation in The Chemical Detox has to pass the same test before it gets written down. Something has to come loose from the product. And it has to have a real way into your body – your skin only lets in small, fat-soluble molecules, breathing brings in fibres and fumes, and swallowing brings in everything. And there has to be enough of it, or it has to happen often enough, for any of that to matter. If it can't clear this test, we say so, and we tell you it's safe to skip.
Does something actually come loose from the product or packaging?
Is there a real route into your body – skin, lungs, or mouth?
Is there enough of it – or does it happen often enough – to matter?
We're not here to promise a cure, and we're never going to tell you a diagnosis is something you caused. What we promise is one thing: less exposure, backed by research we can point to, described in language that says exactly how solid the evidence actually is.
A one-page chart that sorts what's safe to ignore from what's actually worth changing.
